Growing up

Part-4-of-10
.
Christmas decorations and ‘Merry Christmas’ signs "proudly" displayed in all the store windows and Christmas lights hanging from the light poles all up and down Main Street… People you met always said, “Merry Christmas” and meant it, stores played Christmas music, my parents would take us to down Dallas and the toy display in the store windows was something to behold. Lionel trains running around tracks laid out on magical display boards… Lionel Trains were king as a gift to a 10-year old boy… Daisy ‘Red Ryder’ bb guns… Roy Roger’s cap gun sets … I got the Lone Ranger cap gun set with two guns, the mask, and ‘real’ silver bullets… then later Mattel came out with its ‘Fanner-50 series’…that you could actually load like a real SAA Colt…it even shot plastic bullets…I was living large with that one and would play Cowboys all the time…I had the Roy Rogers town set with 2-inch high action figures… the Trigger figure was rearing up on his hind legs…Wore that one out.
